Ice Wine Niagra on the Lake , Sweet White Wine
A golden straw colour, this Icewine is explosive in the nose and on the pallet. With notes of ripe pear, lychees in syrup, floral aromas and candied citrus on the nose. The palate is intensely mouth-filling with flavours of peach, baking spices and tropical fruits. It’s sweetness is balanced by cleansing acidity which lengthens the finish.
Icewine is made from frozen grapes, and Niagara is one of the most successful places on earth for producing this style - the conditions have to be just right, making it a rare wine at the best of times. But patience is a virtue, as the natural process concentrates the grape juice and sugars to such a degree that it reaches another level of sweetness and flavour.

This 2011 Vintage Port Wine from Ramos Pinto is deep purple in colour, typical of a young classic Vintage. Elegant and fragrant aroma, a denoted fresh and fruity nose of raspberry and ripened plum, with a touch of resin and mint. In the mouth, it is soft yet full-bodied, a solid structure of polished tannins supports the ripe red fruit, a touch of mineral and freshness, notes of mint and dark chocolate. Power and very tasty end. A classic Vintage.

This 2011 Vintage Port Wine is "from c. 30 year old block planted vines at Quinta do Vau and Quinta do Seixo (Cima Corgo) this blend comprises 40% Touriga Franca (according to Sottomayer, “the strongest, most structured variety”), 40% Touriga Nacional (“elegance and harmony”), 10% Tinta Roriz, 5% Tinta Cão (“for good acidity”) and 5% Sousão (“to increase colour”). It is a marvellously mineral Port with deep, dark reserves of inky fruit well supported by a charge of sootily fine, schistous tannins. The 2011 Taylor's Vintage Port Wine is made only in exceptional years, following the rigorous selection and tasting process to meet the requirements for declaration. Historically Taylor's has only declared a maximum of 3 vintages per decade. 2011 has been hailed as a classic vintage by all accounts. Ideal ripening conditions in this year have led Fladgate wine-maker David Guimaraens to conclude that the 2011's 'stand out for the purity of the fruit and the quality of the tannins, which are silky and well integrated but provide plenty of structure. The 2011 vintage is textbook Taylor's in its structured aromatics and elegance (according to Fladgate Managing Director Adrian Bridge).
