La Spinetta - Campè

JS 97
James Suckling
"This is wild and exotic with dried flowers, earth, spice and berry character. Full-bodied, dense and decadent with ripe and round tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Fabulous depth. So delicious now but will improve with four to five years of bottle age."

Barolo, 2011

Gigi Rosso - Riserva Ulivo

In the heart of our Arione Estate, an olive tree has survived cold Piedmontese winters for more than 100 years, a testament to the exceptional microclimate of this unique position. In the best vintages, grapes from the Ulivo vineyard (approximately 2 acres or 0.8 Ha) reach a degree of ripeness and intensity of perfume that give the wine its extraordinary bouquet. It is aged for more than four years in the barrel and then the bottle only in the fifth year can the wine legally become a Riserva. Approximately 3,900 bottles are produced (only in the best vintages).

Barros Port, 2011

Late Bottled Vintage Port (Price includes dark mocha leather effect gift box as illustrated) - Delicious with chocolate!

The 2011 Barros is a superb example of LBV Port. It's silky texture leads to powerful flavours that are beautifully balanced. Ruby in colour on the nose there are dark ripe fruit notes, reminiscent of plum, figs and blackcurrants. Full bodied and well balanced it has ripe berry fruit and mulberry flavours.

The Barros Port 2011 Late Bottled Vintage is made by a careful selection of grapes and an extended maceration in order to obtain the necessary richness, colour and intensity needed for a LBV port. Fermentation was arrested by adding grape alcohol in order to produce a naturally sweet wine, which was bottled after 4 years in cask.

Burmester Port , 2011

Vintage Port 6x75cl Bottle Case

***93 Points- Wine Spectator***
***Gold Medal- Concours Mondial de Bruxelles***
***90 Points -Robert Parker***
The 2011 J W Burmester has a sweeter, comparatively floral bouquet with open, generous scents of ripe dates, black plum and raisin that need to show a little more restraint. The palate is similarly sweet and viscous on the mouth. It leans away from the 2011s more structured style, but it is nicely balanced and would appeal to those that like a little hedonism in their “VPs.” Tasted May 2013, Robert Parker.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, all Vintages are bottled in the cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia during the second spring after the harvest.

Calem Port, 2011

Vintage Port Single Bottle in individual presentation box as illustrated

*** 93-95 Points Robert Parker ***
*** 92 Points Wine Spectator ***

With exceptional 92 points, 2011 Cálem Vintage Port is a wine that, according to Kim Marcus, of Wine Spectator, reveals flavours of "black plums, blackberries and cherries" that "vibrate on the palate" with intense notes of "dark chocolate and spices." This Vintage Port suggests a "powerful control", the result of nobles and "structured tannins", extending the finish. According to Kim Marcus, this is a Vintage Port that follows the "traditional style of wines that need time," and recommends drinking it ideally after 2018.

***17/20 Points- Jancis Robinson***
Nuts, black cherry, attractively chewy. This is stylish and convincing with great depth of fruit. Potent and fine-tuned. Turbocharged!
Richard Hemming MW for JancisRobinson.com

"Scarlet in colour, 99% opaque. Fruit led blackcurrant nose. Silky in texture, the tannins are quick to show in the rich fruit and together these give a lovely development to the palate. This is nice, straightforward and well done LBV port. 88/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15." Review on the ThePortForum.

Caves Messias , 2011

Vinha de Santa Barbara, Douro DOC

This excellent wine is made from a blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes.

Tasting Notes:
Deep colour, with perfectly integrated oak barrels, closed and austere fruit, pretty floral touches. Powerful but round and ripe tannins, without excesses, bitter cocoa, mineral notes on the long, juicy finish.
