2011 Taylors LBV

Late Bottled Vintage Port (Includes Taylor's Pine Individual Gift Box as illustrated)

Intense purple ruby colour. Pungent aromatic nose with heaps of black woodland fruit, dark cherry and plum. Lovely clean, crisp freshness to the bouquet. The palate is rounded, smooth and perfectly balanced. Flavours of redcurrant, raspberry and blueberry in abundance, with a delicious hint of black liquorice; wonderful purity of fruit. In true Taylor style, the wine is very well structured with big firm tannins that hold the wine nicely together. The finish is wonderfully long.

Late Bottle Vintage (LBV) Port from Taylor's, one of the oldest Port houses still in existence. Offering a level up in quality from basic ruby Ports, LBV Ports are aged for longer in wood than a normal Vintage Port, which typically age in bottle over many years.

Amarone della Valpolicella, 2011

Tedeshi (Includes a dark mocha leather effect gift box with silk liner as illustrated)

This wine is made from grapes harvested in various vineyards located on hills in the Valpolicella zone (Mezzane and Tregnago hills). Different sources and different grape varieties are important to obtain well-balanced wines with the fine structure that only a few single areas in the Valpolicella zone can provide.

Notes: Color: strong ruby red. Clear and transparent.
Bouquet: notes of vanilla and ethereal airs depending on the period of aging in the barrel; notes of sweet fruits such as currants, blueberries, cherries depending on the varieties of grapes.
Flavor: wine with a velvety, raisiny character combined with the structure and typical stylish bitterness to give it good balance.

Barros Port, 2011

Late Bottled Vintage Port (Price includes dark mocha leather effect gift box as illustrated)

The 2011 Barros is a superb example of LBV Port. It's silky texture leads to powerful flavours that are beautifully balanced. Ruby in colour on the nose there are dark ripe fruit notes, reminiscent of plum, figs and blackcurrants. Full bodied and well balanced it has ripe berry fruit and mulberry flavours.

The Barros Port 2011 Late Bottled Vintage is made by a careful selection of grapes and an extended maceration in order to obtain the necessary richness, colour and intensity needed for a LBV port. Fermentation was arrested by adding grape alcohol in order to produce a naturally sweet wine, which was bottled after 4 years in cask.

Vintage Port Single Bottle in individual presentation box as illustrated

*** 93-95 Points Robert Parker ***

This Vintage Port suggests a "powerful control", the result of nobles and "structured tannins", extending the finish. "Scarlet in colour, 99% opaque. Fruit led blackcurrant nose. Silky in texture, the tannins are quick to show in the rich fruit and together these give a lovely development to the palate.
